Obverse description The obverse centres on a vignette of the World Trade Centre and Bank of Ceylon Headquarters twin towers in Colombo, set over an underprint incorporating the ancient Buddhist temple of Lankathilaka Viharaya at Kandy within a fine guilloche surround. An emerald collared parakeet (Psittacula calthropae) and a Ceylon indigo royal butterfly (Tajuria arida), both endemic to Sri Lanka, appear as secondary motifs within the composed border. The issuing authority and denomination are inscribed in Sinhala, Tamil, and English.

Reverse description The reverse carries a vignette of a Thelme dancer paired with a Yak Bera drummer, representing traditional Sri Lankan ceremonial arts, with a Padmanidhi guard stone rendered in intaglio as the central motif. The composition is framed by a stylized floral guilloche border in the classical Dvithva Liya Vela tradition, drawn from Sri Lankan decorative heritage. Trilingual inscriptions of the issuing authority and denomination appear within the design.
