Reverse description The upper portion of the field bears the arms of the Khorezm People's Soviet Republic, consisting of a crescent and star device flanked by two five-pointed stars, all rendered in low relief above a background of fine diagonal hatching. Below the arms, the Cyrillic word РУБЛЕЙ (Roubles) is prominently inscribed in large raised letters, with the numeral 500 beneath it in equally bold characters. A dotted border encircles the entire design along the rim of the flan. The primitive, hand-struck character of the engraving reflects the rudimentary minting facilities of the early Khorezm Soviet Republic.
