Obverse description The central vignette presents the Ka'aba, the sacred cubic structure at the heart of al-Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, rendered in fine detail against a guilloche underprint. To the right appears the portrait of King Abdulaziz, with the denomination in Arabic numerals below; Arabic inscriptions above identify the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority, the Royal Decree reference, and the name of King Abdullah.
