Reverse description Central field depicts a majestic winged lion in profile, rendered in high relief in the style of the ancient Persepolis bas-reliefs, representing one of the iconic architectural motifs of the Achaemenid palace complex. The creature is shown striding forward with broad, outstretched wings rising above its leonine body. The design is presented within a plain, unadorned field, emphasising the monumental quality of the Persepolitan artistic tradition. This motif was chosen to celebrate the 2,500th anniversary of the founding of the Iranian Empire.
