Obverse description Left-facing bust of Diogo Antônio Feijó (1784–1843), Catholic priest and Regent of the Brazilian Empire from October 1835 to September 1837, rendered in low relief. The effigy is depicted in clerical attire, with the legend REGENTE FEIJO arching above in the upper field. The engraver's initials CB (Calmon Barreto) appear at the lower right of the truncation.

Reverse description A centrally positioned Corinthian column divides the denomination numeral 500 to the left and the word RÉIS to the right, both rendered in large incuse characters. The legend BRASIL curves along the upper periphery, while the date is inscribed in the lower exergue within a recessed panel. The engraver's initials WT (Walter R. Toledo) appear to the right of the date in the exergue.
