Obverse description Central field dominated by the elaborate tughra (imperial cipher) of Sultan Abdul Hamid II, rendered in finely engraved calligraphic strokes. A decorative floral spray with buds is positioned to the right of the tughra. The denomination inscription '٥٠٠' (500) in Arabic numerals appears in the lower field beneath the tughra, accompanied by the word 'قرش' (Qirsh). The coin is bordered by a fine raised bead rim.
