Obverse description Predominantly lilac and violet on a multicolour guilloche underprint, the obverse bears a central vignette of the Sudan Telecommunications Tower alongside a large satellite dish. The denomination numeral ٥٠٠ appears in large format at lower left and lower right, with the bank title بنك السودان المركزي inscribed at top centre in Arabic script. A colour-shifting security stripe and an optically variable ink element appear at right, with the issue date and governor's signature in red Arabic script at lower left.

Reverse description The reverse, in matching lilac and violet tones over a complex guilloche underprint, carries a detailed vignette of an industrial refinery or petrochemical plant occupying the central field. The English inscription CENTRAL BANK OF SUDAN runs along the top, with FIVE HUNDRED SUDANESE POUNDS in large lettering at lower centre, flanked by the numeral 500 in micro-text patterned digits at lower right. A decorative arabesque border band in pink and violet runs below the central vignette, and LEGAL TENDER BANKNOTE is inscribed vertically at left.
