Reverse description A bold facing bust of Andrés Bonifacio, the Supremo of the Katipunan and hero of the Philippine Revolution, is portrayed slightly turned to the right, wearing a traditional barong with a neckerchief. Behind his head, the stylized Katipunan sun symbol with eight primary rays radiates prominently in the upper field. The commemorative legend ANDRES BONIFACIO CENTENNIAL curves along the upper periphery, while the dates 1897 and 1997 are incused in the lower field to the left and right of the bust, respectively, marking the centennial of Bonifacio's death.
