The Philippines shifted its 500 Piso denomination to polymer substrate as part of the New Generation Currency series, a program that began rolling out polymer notes in the early 2020s alongside the older cotton-paper issues still in circulation. Note Printing Australia has been the BSP's primary polymer supplier for the region, and the Melbourne connection here is unambiguous — this is not a case where "printed by" requires qualification.

The 2024 date places this among the most recent production runs. Polymer 500 Piso notes of this series are known to develop stress creasing along the fold lines faster than the cotton-paper predecessors when subjected to the humidity and handling conditions typical of Philippine retail circulation.
