| Obverse description | Intaglio portrait of General José de San Martín occupies the right panel against a multicolour guilloche underprint with a central sunburst rosette rendered in green, gold, and purple tones. A large ornate numeral "500" vignette with intricate lathe-work surround fills the left panel, while the bank title and denomination "QUINIENTOS PESOS" appear in bold letterpress across the centre field. Two facsimile signatures below the central inscription identify the GERENTE GENERAL and PRESIDENTE, with a decorative foliate frieze along the lower border. |
