| Reverse description | The brass centre bears a finely detailed right-facing draped bust of Francisco I. Madero, the Mexican revolutionary leader and president, with a prominent beard and civilian attire, rendered in high relief. The date 1988 appears to the left of the bust in the upper field, while the name MADERO is inscribed to the lower left of the effigy. The mint mark Mo appears to the lower right of the bust, and the denomination $500 is boldly struck along the lower portion of the centre field. The outer steel ring is adorned with a repeating decorative notched pattern around its entire circumference. |
