A portrait vignette of General Ignacio Zaragoza is positioned at right center, with a scene of the Battle of Puebla rendered at left center. Reverse description The reverse is dominated by a detailed intaglio vignette of the Catedral de Puebla at center, its ornate dome and towers rendered in fine line work against a multicolor guilloche underprint in blue, orange and olive tones. A winged angel statue stands at left foreground before decorative ironwork gates, with a period street lamp at right. The denomination numeral "500" appears in bold at upper left and upper right, with the word "QUINIENTOS" in large intaglio lettering along the lower margin.
