| Additional information |
Macau's lunar gold series was issued under Portuguese administration, just eight years before the 1999 handover to China. The Banco Nacional Ultramarino retained note-issuing authority through this period, but these collector strikes were produced with an eye toward the Hong Kong and overseas Chinese gift market rather than any domestic monetary function.
KM#50 is among the lighter gold issues in the series, using the 22-karat standard consistent throughout Macau's lunar program.
