| Obverse description | Plain cream paper note printed in black letterpress throughout, enclosed within a dotted rectangular border. The denomination FÜNFHUNDERT MARK is set in large capitals across the top, flanked by the numeral 500 at each side; the issuing authority STADT MANNHEIM appears in bold majuscules at centre. A faint embossed municipal seal is visible to the lower left, accompanied by a manuscript signature and a red serial number in the lower right quadrant. Three lines of smaller text at the foot state the conditions of redemption and the deadline of 1 March 1923. |
