| Obverse description | Pink-toned note framed by an elaborate multi-register guilloche border of interlocking wave and zigzag patterns in green, with the denomination numeral 500 repeated as an underprint in each corner. The central text panel, set in Gothic blackletter script, carries the voucher title and denomination in large display type, with a series designation in red at the upper right and a serial number below; a circular red official stamp of the City of Cologne appears to the left of the serial number field. A handwritten mayoral signature is placed above the issuer credit line at the foot of the note, dated Köln, den 20. September 1922. |
