| Obverse description | Typographically bold notgeld issue printed in navy blue and orange on grey paper, with a decorative border of fine guilloche work running the full perimeter. A ribbon banner at the top carries the title inscription, below which a large serif numeral '500' appears at each upper corner; the centre is dominated by the denomination in ornate Gothic blackletter script. The date, issuing authority, and Oberbürgermeister's manuscript signature appear in the lower portion, flanking a central embossed or printed oval seal of the City of Bamberg. |
