Obverse description Central device depicts the papal coat of arms of Pope Paul VI: a pointed shield adorned with floral motifs, surmounted by the papal tiara (triregnum) with two crossed keys in saltire behind it, all rendered in fine relief. The shield is flanked by decorative lappets falling to either side. The circular Latin legend surrounding the design reads the pope's name, title, and the regnal year in Roman numerals, with star-shaped stops separating the elements.
