Obverse description Left-facing bust of Dante Alighieri in high relief, depicted wearing his traditional hood and laurel wreath, rendered with expressive sculptural detail by designer G. Verginelli. The circular legend REPVBBLICA ITALIANA arcs around the upper field. The sculptor's signature SCVLT. G. VERGINELLI appears at the lower left of the bust, while the engraver's credit INC. G. MONASSI is inscribed at the lower right. The portrait conveys a dignified, classical Renaissance character consistent with traditional iconographic representations of the poet.
