Reverse description A allegorical composition merging Venetian architecture with musical motifs. A pentagram in the lower field transitions into wave lines upon which a gondola sails toward the right. The Rialto Bridge is depicted at right with a pentagram above it, while the Column of Saint Mark rises at left. Three swallows are scattered through the field. The commemorative dates '1741 - 1991' flank the central design, the denomination 'L.500' appears in the lower exergue, and the Rome mint mark 'R' is positioned just above the lower pentagram's upper line.
