Reverse description At centre, a faithful raised depiction of the ancient Lydian electrum stater — regarded as the world's first coin, struck circa 640 BC — showing the confronted foreparts of a lion and a bull in archaic Anatolian style. Surrounding this central motif, a bilingual circular legend in Turkish and English fills the field: the Turkish text reads 'DÜNYADA BASILAN İLK PARA LİDYA MÖ. 640 ANADOLU' and the English text 'LYDIA BC. 640 ANATOLIA FIRST COIN IN THE WORLD', both arranged around the full circumference of the coin.
