Obverse description Central field features a cornucopia overflowing with ancient coins, including a prominently displayed Istrian coin inscribed 'ISTRI', alongside several other archaic Greek and Dacian coin types rendered in high relief. The Romanian coat of arms appears in the upper right field. The legend 'ROMANIA' is inscribed across the upper portion of the field, with the denomination '500 LEI' along the lower rim and the date '2003' to the right.

Reverse description Central design features a right-facing helmeted female bust, allegorical of numismatics or Minerva, wearing a crested helmet adorned with acanthus leaves, rendered in high sculptural relief against a mirror-polished field. The curved legend 'CENTENARUL SOCIETATII NUMISMATICE ROMANE' arcs across the upper portion of the coin, while the centenary dates '1903-2003' appear in the lower exergue flanked by small decorative ornaments.
