Centered between two ornamental dividers, a three-line inscription reads 'SFANTA EPISCOPIE A RAMNICULUI CTITORITA SUB RADU CEL MARE (1495-1508)', flanked on either side by early Christian symbols — a fish and the Christogram — along with the mitre of the Bishopric of Râmnic. Additional information

Issued to mark the 600th anniversary of the Bishopric of Râmnic, one of the oldest episcopal sees in Wallachia, traditionally dated to 1403 under Mircea the Elder. The bishopric's scriptorium at Râmnicu Vâlcea became a significant center of early Romanian-language printing in the 18th century, producing liturgical texts that helped standardize written Romanian across the Orthodox principalities.
