Comments

Moldova's 500 Lei was printed at Chamalières by the Banque de France's own production facility — a common arrangement for smaller central banks that lack domestic security printing capacity, and one that says little about French monetary involvement but everything about economies of scale in banknote procurement.

Pick 27 occupies the top of the Moldovan lei series by face value, making it the workhorse denomination for larger transactions in a country where average wages have historically kept high-denomination notes circulating hard rather than sitting in savings.
