Bradbury Wilkinson produced this series across a four-year window that straddled Romania's slide from constitutional monarchy into the royal dictatorship Carol II had formalized in 1938. The engravers are a notable pairing — G. Beltrand's obverse work draws from a French tradition of intaglio engraving that Bradbury Wilkinson regularly imported through freelance contracts rather than in-house labor.
Pick 42 is reasonably available in circulated grades but genuinely scarce in high condition, partly because Romanian banknotes of this period suffered badly in the damp storage conditions of wartime requisitioning.
