The P#58 series ran for a brief two-year window, and the dual signature combinations reflect real political timing. Gunnar Sträng had served as Sweden's Minister of Finance for an almost unbroken stretch from 1955 to 1976 — his appearance on the 1985 issue was a late institutional courtesy, his name already carrying more historical weight than administrative function. Erik Åsbrink replaced him on the 1986 notes after Sträng's death in January of that year.
Bengt Dennis held the Riksbank governorship across both signings, providing the only continuity between the two variants.
