| Obverse description | Intaglio portrait of Hryhorii Skovoroda, the 18th-century Ukrainian philosopher and poet, occupies the left-centre of the note against a multicolour guilloche underprint in lilac, blue and green tones. To the upper right, a colour-shifting holographic patch incorporates an open book vignette, flanked by the denomination numeral '500' in latent-image ink at right. The upper left carries the issuer inscription 'НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ' with the title 'Голова' and a facsimile signature, while Skovoroda's name appears in script at the lower centre. |
