Obverse description The Haitian coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a palm tree flanked by two cannons on a grassy ground, with trophies of flags and weapons arranged on either side. A ribbon at the base bears the national motto. The encircling legend reads 'REPUBLIQUE D'HAITI' around the upper and lower periphery in raised Latin letters. The mint mark 'R' (Rome, Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato) appears in the lower field beneath the arms. The coin is struck in proof finish with a deeply mirrored field contrasting against frosted relief.
