| Obverse description | The obverse presents an elaborate astronomical and cosmological composition in high relief, rendered in contrasting selective rose gold plating against a mirror-polished silver field. At centre, a stylised solar disc featuring a crosshair or wheel motif is overlaid by a large crescent moon symbol, both rendered in polished silver, surrounded by concentric circular bands and orbiting rings suggestive of planetary motion. Scattered around the inner field are numerous small symbolic medallions and celestial glyphs. The reeded border is fully rose gold plated, and the legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN arcs along the left, with 500 FRANCS CFA to the right, and the date 2022 at lower right; the mint mark MW and fineness Ag 999 appear in the lower field. |
