| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Cameroon is displayed centrally against a finely engraved wavy background that fills the entire field, creating a dynamic two-tone effect through selective black ruthenium plating. The shield bears a balance scale surmounted by a five-pointed star, flanked by crossed fasces and supported by two decorative elements at the crest. A scroll beneath the shield carries bilingual inscriptions identifying the republic. The circular legend 'REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN' arcs along the upper field, while the motto 'PAIX TRAVAIL PATRIE' and its English equivalents 'PEACE WORK FATHERLAND' appear in pairs flanking the arms. The denomination '500 FRANCS CFA' is inscribed prominently in the lower field, with the date '2023' and the fineness mark 'Ag 999' also present. |
