| Obverse description | Central field bears the coat of arms of Cameroon, depicting a shield with a balance scale, flanked by two crossed fasces with laurel branches and surmounted by a five-pointed star, all rendered in high relief. The national motto appears on ribbons flanking the shield in both French (PAIX TRAVAIL PATRIE) and English (PEACE WORK FATHERLAND). The legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN arcs across the upper field, with the denomination 500 FRANCS CFA inscribed below.
