| Obverse description | The coat of arms of Cameroon is depicted in the central field, showing a shield bearing a balance scale surmounted by a star, flanked by crossed fasces and two battle-axes, with a ribbon below bearing the bilingual legends REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON and REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN. The national motto PAIX TRAVAIL PATRIE / PEACE WORK FATHERLAND appears within the arms. The legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 500 FRANCS CFA is inscribed along the lower portion. The date 2023 is divided on either side of the central arms. The entire design is struck on an egg-shaped flan with a frosted field finish. |
