| Obverse description | The obverse features two intricately rendered butterflies depicted in an ornamental, filigree-style engraving against a deeply mirrored proof field. The larger butterfly, rendered in fine lace-like detail, occupies the upper left, while a second, larger butterfly rendered in bold relief fills the lower portion of the field with sweeping decorative scrollwork and arabesques surrounding both motifs. The circular legend at the top reads REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN and 500 FRANCS CFA, with the date 2021 inscribed vertically along the right. The mint mark and fineness designation AG 999 appear in the lower field near the exergue. |
