| Reverse description | A large five-pointed star (the Seal of Solomon) dominates the central field, with a royal crown depicted at its centre. Decorative foliate ornaments fill the lower point of the star. The dual dates 1956 (Gregorian) and 1376 (Hijri) flank the upper portion of the star in the field, while the denomination 500 FRANCS and its Arabic equivalent ٥٠٠ فرنك appear to the lower left and right respectively. The Arabic legend السكة المحمدية الشريفة curves along the upper border, and EMPIRE CHERIFIEN appears along the lower border in Latin capitals. The engraver's name J. HAINAUT is inscribed in small letters at lower left in the field. |
