Obverse description The national coat of arms of Cameroon is depicted centrally against a heavily textured wavy field rendered in alternating polished and matte relief, creating a dynamic visual contrast. The shield displays scales of justice surmounted by a five-pointed star, supported by crossed fasces, with a banner below bearing the bilingual legends 'REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON' and 'REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN'. The country name 'REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN' arcs along the left and upper periphery, while the national motto in French and English — 'PAIX TRAVAIL PATRIE' and 'PEACE WORK FATHERLAND' — appears in the upper field. The date '2023' is inscribed centrally above the arms, and the denomination '500 FRANCS CFA' together with the fineness 'Ag 999' and mint mark 'mw' appear in the lower field.

Reverse description The reverse presents a vivid full-color depiction of the Milky Way galaxy as viewed through a central circular magnifying lens, revealing a luminous spiral galaxy with a brilliant golden-white galactic core surrounded by sweeping blue and red nebular arms. The lens occupies the central field and is set within a broad annular border finished in black ruthenium, engraved with a detailed star chart identifying named stars and celestial objects including Alioth, Alkaid, Megrez, Merak, Phekda, Mizar, Alcor, and the M51 Whirlpool Galaxy, among others. Eight selectively gilt spheres, representing planets or stars, are evenly distributed around the star chart annulus, accented against the dark background. The outermost rim is finished in selective gilding, providing a sharp, luminous border that frames the entire astronomical composition.
