| Obverse description | Central black field bears the coat of arms of Cameroon — a shield featuring scales of justice surmounted by a five-pointed star, flanked by crossed fasces — centered in the design. The national motto appears in bilingual form flanking the arms: PAIX / PEACE to the left, TRAVAIL / WORK above, and PATRIE / FATHERLAND to the right. The legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN arcs along the upper portion of the inner field, with the denomination 500 FRANCS CFA below it, and the date 2018 and fineness mark Ag 999 flanking the lower arms.
