| Reverse description | High-relief portrait of Guan Yu, the deified Chinese general and god of war, depicted facing three-quarters to the right with a fierce, commanding expression. He wears an elaborate battle helmet adorned with ornamental flourishes, and a long flowing beard cascades down his chest in finely engraved strands. To the right, a large circular coral jasper insert is set within an intricately engraved border of traditional Chinese cloud and scroll motifs. The name 'Guan Yu' is inscribed in stylized Latin lettering along the upper field. The entire design is executed in antique-finish high relief against a textured field. |
