| Reverse description | The reverse presents a vivid full-colour reproduction of Gustav Klimt's celebrated painting 'Expectation' (Die Erwartung), depicting a standing female figure rendered in the artist's distinctive Jugendstil idiom, with elaborate geometric and spiral ornamentation executed in gold, amber, and polychrome tones. The central coloured panel is flanked on either side by antique-finished silver fields bearing intricate low-relief patterns of spirals, geometric motifs, and abstract designs characteristic of Klimt's decorative vocabulary. An oval natural amber insert is inlaid at the left side of the coin, adding a tactile and organic element to the composition. The Bank of Central African States — the BEAC — issues commemorative collector pieces well outside its core monetary mandate, contracting production almost exclusively to European private mints targeting the global numismatic market. These coins have no meaningful circulation history in the six member states of the CFA franc zone. The amber insert, a feature popularized by the Czech firm Česká mincovna and widely licensed across collector series in the 2010s, is thermally set into the planchet before striking.
