| Obverse description | The obverse features a right-facing portrait bust of a mature male head of state rendered in high relief against a finely textured matte field. The effigy is centrally positioned with the date 2023 divided on either side below the portrait. An inner circular legend surrounding the bust reads REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN, 5 TROY OUNCES, 500 FRANCS CFA, and 999 FINE COPPER. The outer border carries two lines from the Christmas carol 'We Three Kings': WESTWARD LEADING, STILL PROCEEDING at the top and GUIDE US TO THY PERFECT LIGHT at the bottom, each flanked by raised dot separators. |

Cameroon has issued collector coinages under its name for decades, but the issuing authority and distribution have long been handled entirely by European minting and marketing firms — the coins have no circulation history in Cameroon itself and are produced exclusively for the international numismatic market. This piece is one of hundreds of such issues, where the sovereign name functions essentially as a licensing arrangement.
KM#544 places it within a dense cluster of Cameroonian-attributed novelty issues catalogued by Krause in the 2020s.
