| Reverse description | A detailed three-quarter perspective rendering of the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus occupies the central field, depicting the grand Ionic colonnade of the ancient structure with its stepped platform (krepidoma), multiple rows of tall fluted columns supporting an elaborately decorated entablature and pediment, and surrounding stonework. Small decorative eight-pointed stars flank the upper legend on both sides. The arc legend TEMPLE DE ARTÉMISE curves along the upper border, while MERVEILLES DU MONDE DE L'ANTIQUITÉ arcs along the lower border, with the year 2008 inscribed in the exergue below the temple. |
