| Reverse description | A full-colour reproduction of the celebrated 1904–1905 Symbolist oil painting 'Nec Mergitur' (also known as 'The Ship' or 'Unsinkable') by Polish painter Ferdynand Ruszczyc, occupying the entirety of the reverse field. The composition depicts a large, multi-masted sailing vessel battling a turbulent, darkened sea beneath a vast, star-strewn nocturnal sky, rendered with dramatic chiaroscuro and expressive brushwork faithful to the original canvas. The artist's name 'FERDYNAND RUSZCZYC' is inscribed as a legend across the lower portion of the design. |
