| Obverse description | The central field displays the Coat of Arms of Cameroon, featuring a shield bearing a scales of justice beneath a five-pointed star, supported by two crossed fasces and flanked by stylized bull horns, all rendered in high relief against a wavy guilloche background that occupies the left half of the field in silver and the right half in black. The national motto appears in bilingual form around the upper interior: PAIX / PEACE to the left and PATRIE / FATHERLAND to the right, with TRAVAIL / WORK at the top. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN runs along the upper rim, while 500 FRANCS CFA is prominently inscribed along the lower rim.
