| Reverse description | The reverse presents a faithful artistic reproduction of the renowned 1918 United States Inverted Jenny philatelic error, depicting a blue Curtiss JN-4 biplane printed upside down within a red decorative frame, as found on the original 24-cent airmail stamp. The stamp vignette is rendered in colour with precise attention to the original design, including the characteristic border ornamentation of the 1918 issue. The legends U.S. POSTAGE and 24 CENTS 24 appear as on the original stamp, with the additional inscription Inverted Jenny 1918 identifying the subject. The overall composition is set within the same perforated stamp-border format as the obverse, maintaining thematic continuity. This reverse commemorates one of the most celebrated errors in philatelic history. |
