Reverse description At left, a bust portrait of a bearded Polynesian man from Uvea on the Loyalty Islands of New Caledonia, set against a landscape vignette of the characteristic rock formations of Hienghène. A wooden carving appears at right, while the border composition incorporates palm fronds, conch shells, harpoons, mangrove branches, and shellfish. Denomination and legal tender warning inscriptions appear in the margins.
