| Obverse description | The obverse presents a bold typographic design occupying the full field. The legend MAGYAR NÉPKÖZTÁRSASÁG (Hungarian People's Republic) arcs across the upper portion in large stylized letters. Below, the denomination numeral 500 is prominently displayed in oversized figures, with the word FORINT beneath it. The date of issue is split on either side of the denomination as 19 and 87, and the engraver's signature KUTAS appears at the bottom of the field. The mint mark BP. is inscribed at the top of the coin above the legend. |
