Reverse description The reverse presents a finely detailed bust of the Hungarian poet and statesman Ferenc Kölcsey (1790–1838), shown in three-quarter left-facing view, dressed in period costume with a high collar, and holding a quill pen. An arc of cursive script reading Isten áldd meg a magyart (the opening line of the Hungarian national anthem, authored by Kölcsey) curves across the upper field. Below the portrait, Kölcsey's facsimile signature appears in cursive, flanked by his birth and death years 1790–1838 inscribed along the lower right rim. The portrait is rendered in finely modelled high relief, characteristic of commemorative medallic art.
