Obverse description An intaglio portrait of Prince Ferenc II Rákóczi, executed after the celebrated painting by Ádám Mányoki, occupies the right portion of the note in finely engraved lines over a multicolour guilloche underprint in pastel tones of rose, blue, and yellow. The Hungarian coat of arms is positioned in the centre-left field, with the MNB monogram set within a guilloche cartouche at upper left. Serial numbers appear in red at lower left and vertically along the right margin.

Reverse description The central vignette presents the Hungarian Parliament building in Budapest, partially overlaid by the national flag with its communist coat of arms cut out — the iconic perforated tricolour that became a defining symbol of the 1956 October Revolution. The composition is set against a warm multicolour guilloche background, and a commemorative inscription marking the 50th anniversary of the uprising is placed below the central vignette.
Reverse lettering ORSZÁGHÁZ ÖTSZÁZ FORINT 50. ÉVFORDULÓ 1956. OKTÓBER 23. PÁLINKÁS GY. FEC.
