Reverse description The reverse displays a large, stylized rendering of the Armenian letter Խ (Khe) prominently in the central field, presented in a modern decorative style. To its left stands a vertical rectangular panel ornamented with an intricate interlaced knotwork pattern in the tradition of Armenian manuscript illumination. The entire Armenian alphabet — ԱԲԳԴԵԶԷԸԹԺԻԼԽԾԿՀՁՂՃՄՅՆՇՈՉՊՋՌՍՎՏՐՑՈւՓՔևՕՖ — is inscribed in a continuous legend encircling the rim, with a small floral or star ornament separating the beginning and end of the sequence. The composition celebrates the Armenian alphabet, invented by the scholar Mesrop Mashtots in 405 AD, as part of a commemorative series dedicated to each letter.
