Obverse description A highly detailed ultra-high relief rendering of the interior nave of St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City occupies the entire field, depicted in a dramatic perspective view looking toward the altar. The ornate Baroque baldachin by Bernini dominates the central axis, flanked by elaborately decorated pilasters bearing sculpted figures of saints in niches to either side. The coat of arms of the Republic of Palau appears centrally within the composition, accompanied by the curved legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU and the denomination 500 Dollars incused below. At the lower portion of the coin, a rectangular inlay of red Tiffany-style art glass is set into the field, evoking the luminous stained-glass windows of the basilica, with the series inscriptions TIFFANY ART 2022 and METROPOLIS appearing below it.

Reverse description A finely detailed high-relief depiction of the exterior facade and celebrated dome of the Basilica di San Pietro in Vaticano fills the field, rendered from a frontal perspective that captures the grandeur of Carlo Maderno's facade and Michelangelo's towering cupola rising above it. A procession of apostolic statues is visible along the roofline balustrade, and the elaborate architectural ornamentation of the portico and pilasters is faithfully reproduced. The papal emblem featuring the crossed keys of Saint Peter beneath the tiara appears in the left field. Two inlaid panels of vivid red Tiffany-style art glass are set into the lower facade of the building, representing the great bronze doors of the basilica. The legend SAN PIETRO IN VATICANO is inscribed in the upper left field.
