| Obverse description | The central field features the full Coat of Arms of the Republic of Liberia, depicting a sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, a rising sun, a dove in flight, a shield, a plough, and a spade, all enclosed within a wreath. A scroll across the upper portion of the shield bears the national motto 'THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE'. The date '2000' is divided on either side of the arms in the field. The outer legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' arcs around the upper periphery, while the lower field carries the inscriptions 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA', 'Bi-Metal Pure', '$500', and 'Gold & Silver', referencing the denomination and bimetallic composition. |
