Additional information

The Australian Stock Horse breed descends directly from the Waler — the horse exported in massive numbers to British imperial forces during the First World War, with over 160,000 shipped from Australia between 1914 and 1918. Fewer than a handful ever returned, Australian quarantine regulations effectively making the departure permanent. The breed's selection for this bullion series reflects a broader Perth Mint strategy, begun in earnest through the 2000s, of rotating native fauna and culturally significant subjects to sustain collector demand across annual releases.

At five troy ounces, this is the heaviest denomination in the standard Stock Horse issue year.
